If it’s in season, and grown in Ontario, you can count on us to grow or source the best this region has to offer. Unique features at our market include: new strawberry varieties, pick your own herb and flower garden, seasonal watermelon and buckwheat honey from our own on-farm hives, a line-up of fresh preserves, and daily fresh picked produce.

Features

We have been growing and selling fresh produce the early 1900’s. Our market started as a loved roadside stand. Our mission has always been to provide our customers with the sweetest, freshest, and highest quality produce, and in 2010 we built an updated farm market on John Wise Line, just south of Aylmer, to better serve you!

In 2018 we expanded to a second location on highbury ave, in St Thomas to share our homegrown fruits and veggies with the community. Now called Howe’s Farm Market and Country Bakery, this location was previously founded in 1995 as “Salt Creek Market”. In the winter of 2018/2019, renovations took place to expand the bakery, and improve accessibility for everyone by adding a wheelchair ramp and increasing floor space. We are so thankful for the warm welcome from the surrounding communities!

Farm market history

Variety selection plays the most important role in flavour. Each year we go overboard on variety trials. We’ve grown over 100 different varieties of watermelon, over 70 different varieties of strawberries, countless varieties of sweet corn, tomatoes and peppers in search of the most flavourful fruits and vegetables.

At our market you can find some absolutely fantastic locally grown and made goodies. From milk and artisan cheese to locally butchered meat, we have everything you need for a delicious meal. So many preserves to choose from, not to mention sauces, dips, frozen meals & more.

Made from scratch, using the freshest, local ingredients our baked goods rarely make it home without a taste test! Some recipes are tried and true passed down through generations of Howe’s and others are new treats our team has created.

From our bakery you can find so many tasty seasonal items, like quiche, soups, cookies, scones, tarts, pies, cheesecakes, and more!
